Happy Holidays---
I know I've been neglecting my blog so with that let's start. This has been an eventful year for all of us. At the beginning of the year, Bill broke his wrist snowboarding and required a metal plate and 9 pins, Ouch! Having done this, his deployment to Iraq was postponed until this January 2011. He has been a busy guy, flying around the brass, training for his mission in Iraq and will be the Commander while he is there. He still works for the Pentagon aside from his reserve duties. His outlet has been bicycling around the loop and being assistant coach to Jack's soccer team, they of course came in 1st place. We will be sending him off on January 15Th, with lots of love, hugs and tears. We will miss our Hero!
Taylor graduated from High School this year, we are so proud of her. She has become such a beautiful, tall, 19 year old dare I say woman. She has taken a break, but plans to go to college in the Spring. She keeps changing her mind on what she wants to do, so waiting until Spring has been a good idea.
Jacqueline is almost 11 years old. This little lady excels in school, she pretty much is a straight A student. Her teacher told us, that she will go far as she loves to learn and actually likes being at school. She got an award at the end of the school year for reading the most words, I think it was something like 100,000 words or maybe it was close to a million. She is in 5Th grade this year and will be graduating and heading to Middle School next year, Yikes! She played soccer and her team came in 1st place for the classic tournament, she got the MIP ball, which stands for (most improved player), she was thrilled. They made her the tracker on the team, she followed around the person that was the best player on the other team and stopped her from scoring, she was awesome!
Jack, my little man turned 8 years old, he is getting so grown up, but he's heart still belongs to mommy...He is in 2ND grade this year and is doing really great, he is getting all B's. Last year, he got 2 awards (Special Achievement in Reading and Citizen of the Month). He also played soccer this year and his team really kicked but, LOL. He is still an avid gamer, the workers at Game Stop know him, it cracks me up, he will be one of their groupies some day. He is quite the ladies man already, he told me he got a new desk partner and that made him so happy. He said, "she drove me crazy, she was always asking me who I liked," LOL. Another little girl, would wait for him to give him his back pack, OMG, to cute....
As for me, I am still a Soccer Mom. I worked this summer for the Dean of Students at Marymount College in Palos Verdes, it was a great job! Working a college environment was something different, but the people and the students were really warm and made the experience so much fun. I'm a college student myself, I'm going for that magic piece of paper in Liberal Arts. I just finished with 2 classes, Health and US Government. I enjoyed these classes, learned a lot, got an A in Health and a B in US Government. I did pursue one other passion this year and that was learning to belly dance. I had an awesome time, but with life the way it is, I've had to put that back on the back burner. I've been running another passion of mine, I run just under 5 miles about 4 times a week this helps me to stay focused and let all the stress of life out....
As a family we've been through lots of changes, have grown closer as a family and have enjoyed new experiences. Hope this new year will bring lots more fun adventures to us and that we will continue to have good health, kindness in our hearts and love. God Speed to Bill, that he will be safe and be home soon.
